Police to sterilize busway lanes next month

Jakarta : The city administration and city police will hold a try out to sterilize TransJakarta busway lanes as parts of efforts to ease the public transport's traffic especially during peak hours.

The try out will be done in four corridors-corridor I (Blok M in South Jakarta to Kota West Jakarta), corridor III (Kalideres in west Jakarta to Harmoni in Central Jakarta), corridor V (Kampung Melayu in East Jakarta to Ancol North Jakarta) and corridor VI (Ragunan in South Jakarta to Dukuh Atas in Central Jakarta)-on Aug 1.

The authorities will hold a public campaign from Tuesday to next Thursday.

Jakarta traffic police Sr. Comr. Pol. Condro Kirono said his office would deploy 2,359 personnels to secure the lanes during the try out at the peak hours between 6 to 9 a.m and 4 to 7 p.m.
